Get ready to 'Carrie On'

My heart beat fast with joy when the release time of Sex and the City Movie sequel was announced: May 27th, 2010.

And I am so excited to see the movie trailer was out. I watched it a couple of times to collect all the scenes details especially the outfits... I can't wait to share all the fun, story of friendship, smart and funny lines and 'big' fashion with my girlfriends this summer.

BOF Favorite: Perfect Combinations

I love perfume. I select fragrances that portrait my mood, suit for occasions and time of the day.

Different scents say different thing to me. In the morning, I love something with fresh fruit or citrus smell. In the evening, I prefer something with darker note and a touch of spice. And sometime my mood reflects by my scent selection of that day.

Jo Malone is my favorite perfumer. Good thing about their fragrance is that it allows you to create unique scent of your own. By combining two different fragrances, you have a unique scent to wear at different time.

I always use the limited edition "Dark Amber & Ginger Lily" as base scent, and combine it with "Lime Basil & Mandarin", or "Vanilla & Anise" or sometime "Grapefruit" for a daytime use. At night, I normally use Dark Amber & Ginger Lily alone.

BOF Favorite: Ridding in Style

Last weekend in Taipei, I saw this gorgeous bicycle at Fendi shop. I would definitely ride a bike around my neighborhood with one of these.

Actually Gucci also makes bicycle, the one in red is so cute.

This one in brown is cute too.

Inspirations: Grey and Blue

Seeing a lady carrying a gorgeous Blue Jean Birkin with her grey pants the other day, I decided to pick grey and blue as my color combination for next year wardrobe planning.

Obviously, these two colors inspired some designers for their runway shoes too.

Both colors are my favorite, I have plenty of them but I usually wear them separately. I normally pair blue with light khakis, and grey with a darker shade, it's time for a change.

Inspirations: Bond

For an up coming product launch for my smart phone client, I am pulling together this 'Bond' inspiration board to show them the look and feel of the launch party. I imagine whitle tent with black and gold ornates. Men in crisp Armani suite and women in masculin sihouette evening gown from D&G.

Let's see how the event organizer will interprete my ideas. It is going to be a classic and glamor party.

Beside the campaign to donate portion of the iconic bags sale to Red Cross, Louis Vuitton showcases this Boite Speciale Croix-Rouge to celebrate Red Cross's 150 years anniversary.

The box is in classic monogram and based on the original design of actual Red Cross kit's in 1914.

Inspirations: Vogue Living

Digging into the pile of interior design magazine the other day, I found this copy of Vogue Living Australia magazine that inspires me with black, gold, and brown. And also to add more character with timeless accessories.

In the past, my choice of colors was always pastel. I often matched a pair of light khakis with cotton candy shirts or polos.

I am a big fan of Kelly Wearstler, a celebrity interior decorator, ultimate interior design trend setter, and the founder of KWID (Kelly Wreastler Interior Design), for the amazing works she has done for residential and commercial spaces.

HUE is her upcoming book showcasing her interior design talent.

I can’t wait to get a copy of HUE. I certainly get a limited hardcopy edition.

Umbrella in Style

People who know me know that I love accessories both for home and clothing.

Chic accessories personalize your style and make your look unique. I particularly like umbrellas (also love bags and scarfs), not only are they useful in Thailand’s rainy and hot climate, but they also look sophisticated and gentlemanly.

My favorite umbrella-themed movie is the Umbrellas of Cherbourg (Jacques Demy, 1964). Catherine Deneuve was (and is still) so beautiful in this movie, and the interior set, especially the umbrella shop, looked stunning.

At the Bangkok Film festival several years ago, I had an opportunity to watch this movie on the big screen and attended the Q&A session with Catherine Deneuve's present. I was so excited to see her even in distance.

Who else are my umbrella lady icons?

Of cause my first one has to be Carrie Bradshaw. I am sure the SATC fan would remember the scene when she was wondering around Paris with that red umbrella (of Plaza Athenee where she stayed with Alexsandr Petrovsky), and she failed at Dior and spilled the Carried necklace.

In the fourth season, she carried a vintage white umbrella that went well with a basic white summer dress.

Nicole Kidman was so stylish in movie Australia. The opening scene when she arrived with navy blue and white suit with a black-trimmed white umbrella. She looked stunning.

I also love her elaborate set of Prada luggage.

Victoria Beckham also needs a cute umbrella when she is hanging out by the pool.

Inspirations: Red Lobster

My last trip to New York in August, I was inspired a window display at Bergdorf Goodman and a fresh seafood display at Chelsea’s market both of which made use of the color lobster red. I would really love to have that color in my wardrobe.

Maybe this red and black sailor lonsleeve from Michael Bastian will go well with a pair of white linen and white flip-flops.

This weekend I am away from my regular yoga routine because of a back injury. Yoga is fun, it makes me calm, but it is not a type of sport you can socialize with people as it goes. I have been thinking about picking up tennis, the thought accessories crossing my mind.
